Homefield Road Veterinary Surgery has an experienced team of qualified Veterinary Surgeons and Nurses together with our reception staff who will welcome you to the practice and give your pets the care and attention they deserve.

Richard Frost


Richard qualified from Cambridge University in 1993. He is our principal equine vet and also helps out in the small animal clinic when needed. He has a special interest in dentistry in all species and also in ultrasound imaging. He has his own cattle and sheep and visits our farm clients.




Jessica graduated from Alma Mater Studiorum of Bologna (Italy) in 2010. She has a special interest in dermatology and she spent a period studying this at the Veterinary Emergency Referral Group in New York and at the Studio Scarampelia MSc , DECVD in Milan. She is currently working towards a certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. In her spare time, Jessica likes outdoor climbing and medieval role play games as a 'cosplayer'.

Gemma is a registered veterinary nurse who joined us in 2013 after completing her vet nurse training at a vet practice in Buckinghamshire. She also has a degree in animal behaviour. Gemma had previously worked as an elephant keeper at Woburn Safari Park. Her job there involved looking after three adult elephants. She is an extremely patient and conscientious member of staff. Gemma has two cats and two beautiful daughters.

Toni joined the practice in 2012 and has recently started official training to become a registered veterinary nurse. She can be found working at both our Homefield Road and Hawkedon practices. Toni looks after the insurance claims for our Homefield Road clients. She regularly competes with her thoroughbred horse 'Theo' in showjumping, cross-country and long distance rides. Toni also a tiny Jack Russel called Tia who is an absolute princess and can be seen sporting a new outfit every week!



Louisa joined the team in 2013. She has completed a BSc (Hons) in animal behaviour and welfare in 2012. Like Toni, Louisa has also recently started training to become a registered veterinary nurse and works mainly at our Homefield road practice.  Louisa has a special interest in rehabilitation and has taken part in capture, care and release programs at a wildlife hospital. She has volunteered in many places including South Africa where she the opportunity to work with some very large and exciting wildlife! With a vast amount of experience in caring for anything from pigeons to rhinos, Louisa is valued member of our team.

Molly joined the practice in early 2014 after qualifying from Eastern College with a distinction in Equine management NVQ Level 3. Prior to that, Molly attained her BHS exams Levels 1,2 and 3 in addition to achieving her assistant equine instructor qualifacations from Talland School of Equitation in Cirencester. In her spare time, Molly enjoys eventing with her horse Cossi and helping her father with breeding racehorses. At home, she has two beautiful labradors who love to walk in the countryside near their home. Molly works both on reception and as an animal nursing assistant.


Gemma rejoined the practice in 2013 after spending time working at a practice in Liverpool. She qualified as a Veterinary Care Assistant from the PDSA in 2008. Working in a busy charity practice gave Gemma exposure to a wide variety of cases and lots of experience in dealing with emergencies. Gemma works on reception and as a animal nursing assistant. She is keen sportswoman and particularly enjoys rugby and hockey. She has two dogs who she enjoys nice walks with and also has two cats.

Paul visits us to hold clinics for our difficult cardiology cases. Paul is a recognised specialist in cardiology and provides his expertise for our more challenging cases. 

kerry joyce 
BVetMed CertVOpthal MRCVS
Kerry visits us to see our more complex eye cases and also performs opthalmological surgery.
